Big Changes for WordPress 5

Published by wensumdotnet on

The latest version of WordPress, due to be released on or around 19th November, will see a major change in the way pages are edited. The authors of the software have included the new feature called Gutenberg, which attempts to make the editing process a “media rich” experience. It uses a series of ‘blocks’ into which you can flexibly add and rearrange text and multimedia content.

If you think you’d be more comfortable with the existing editor functions, you can keep the old-style editing system by installing and activating the WordPress plugin called ‘Classic Editor’. We have pre-installed this on all our Supervised and Managed WordPress Hosting accounts and will activate this as soon as WP 5.0 is released. If you maintain your own WordPress site, you could do the same.
