When we’ve been commissioned and you’ve provided us with the information and content you want to be included, we start work on the site. We’ll aim to come up with a layout you like and agree on the structure of the site, then take the project on to completion. If the site looks like it’ll take a long time to complete (sometimes a client’s priorities change mid-project) you may be asked for an interim payment, but usually you’ll be billed when it’s all done and dusted.

The job isn’t finished there. We’ll host your website too (that means storing it on a fast, permanently net-connected server) and provide you with a statistics program to analyze the hits it gets. You’ll be able to see how many unique visitors you’ve had, the sites they click through from, the searchengines they’ve used to find you and the phrases they typed in to bring your site up.

You’ll also get mailbox facilities, being able to choose your preferred set of email addresses at your site (such as sales@yoursite.co.uk). Email comes with webmail features too, so you’ll be able to use your email address when you’re away from your own computer. If you prefer a ‘forwarder’ which sends messages through to your existing email address, that can be arranged too.

If you’re confident with web design and graphics software, website maintenance is something you can undertake yourself. The task is made even easier if your site uses a CMS system to update the content. We’re available during office hours (unlike many webdesigners who work part-time from home) and work can usually be carried out within a short timescale.

There are hundreds of layout themes to choose from on the net, both free and commercial, so you can easily use a design which suits you. The software is regularly updated by the authors and because it’s so popular there’s a thriving WordPress community who provide informal support to fellow users. Software updates and add-ons are all installed automatically, so it’s an ideal system for users who aren’t used to uploading files to the server.
